During AFIC Steering Committee meeting held in Kampala Uganda from May 10-11, 2011 the Steering Committee under Agenda 4 tasked the Secretariat to propose a definite criteria for AFIC membership. At the Steering Committee held on November 2, 2011 the Steering Committee under Min. 6/SC/11 considered and approved membership criteria.
The Steering Committee meeting held in Accra Ghana from June 18-20, 2012 appointed a subcommittee to study and propose policy on membership criteria, benefits and benefits. At its meeting in Entebbe, Uganda from July 30-31, 2014 the Steering Committee received subcommittee report and adopted it as AFIC Membership Policy below.
What is AFIC?
AFIC is a pan African civil society, membership organization and resource centre promoting the right of access to information on the African continent. Its work is to support different ATI initiatives for research, law development and reform, capacity development and compliance with international standards and best practice.
